Santa Barbara airport (SBA): A 10 minute carriage ride from downtown, our charming local aerodrome has direct flights from Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco & Seattle.

Los Angeles airport (LAX): The gateway of choice for our guests from more far-flung corners of the earth. 2 hours from Santa Barbara, with convenient coach service by Santa Barbara Airbus.

Burbank airport (BUR): Step off your aircraft and board one of Amtrak’s delightful Surfliner trains for the 2 hour journey to Santa Barbara.

By locomotive

Amtrak offers a most convenient rail service from San Diego, Orange County or Los Angeles. Southbound trains from Sacramento and Seattle are also available daily! Choose from luxurious 1st class rail carriage complete with foot warmers, oil lamps and closed sides and roof or 2nd class carriages with roofs, but open-sided. We recommend you bring parasols for protection and wine for merriment.

By motorcar

Travel along breathtaking U.S. Route 101. The route through southern and central California coast follows the old trail, El Camino Real (The Royal Road), which linked the Spanish missions, pueblos, and presidios. Don’t forget your cap and driving goggles! Santa Barbara is located approximately 90 miles from Los Angeles; 130 miles from Orange County; and 220 miles from San Diego.
